Amferia is expanding our technical team to support the growing interest for our antimicrobial wound care products within human and animal health.   • MSc. or PhD Degree in Materials Science or equivalent with strong laboratory experience in microbiology or cell biology considered as a merit.


  • Good laboratory skills is fundamental for performing in this role.
  • Materials engineer with biomaterials or microbiology background – minimum of 1-3 years of Research and Product Development experience.
  • Accustomed to material synthesis & design, such as polymer based materials and characterisation techniques such as UV-visible spectroscopy, fluorescence microscopy and mechanical testing.  
  • Laboratory experience in microbiology or cell biology is constructive to the role. 
  • Previous experience within wound care products & medical devices, running a pre-clinical or clinical evaluation of new medical devices and knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 13485, is meritorious but not required.
  • Good knowledge of English, both oral and in writing, is a requirement.


To plan and run Amferia’s  product development projects within the ongoing antimicrobial wound care portfolio. As a key member of the product development team, you will design and develop Amferia’s current and future wound care product portfolio based on customer demands from both human and veterinary markets. You will work closely with and report directly to the Chief Technology Officer.

 We are looking for a teammate who can: 

  • Optimize and design Amferia's wound care products based on customer feedback – This includes the entire product chain from performing tests and experiments related to the basic science to optimising practicalities of the end-product, such as packaging, sterilisation and ease-of-use.
  • Lead the process optimization for production and scale-up of Amferia’s wound care products for both clinical trials and market launch in the respective market segments.
  • Support the product team with documentation for quality control and subsequent regulatory filings to obtain CE marking.
  • Communicate with good writing skills in English. Writing is key to this role as you will be required to adapt your writing to multiple needs; for example, prepare specific test reports for internal reporting while also prepare and present product brochures for customers and for conferences/trade fairs. 
  • Be comfortable with learning new concepts essential for working in a young med-tech company, that extends beyond laboratory research, and includes aspects such as medical device regulatory and business development activities.
