Amferia was founded in 2018 and develops new antimicrobial materials for use in medical devices. The technology is based on bioinspired and amphiphilic antibacterial polymers that target and rapidly kill bacteria upon contact, including numerous antibiotic resistant bacteria like MRSA and MDR
E. Coli. The material is highly selective and targets only bacteria while being entirely non-toxic to animal and human cells. Today, Amferia has transformed this concept into a first product of a preventive wound care patch for skin wound applications supported by strong scientific data and publications.
